This dataset contains T2-weighted MRI scans of 21 different Sprague-Dawley rats that were subjected to permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion, as part of a study assessing the influence of gender in the progression of ischaemic injury. The scans were transformed using 3D affine geometric transformations to simulate differences in the use of MRI at six different preclinical imaging centres across Europe (scanners with different linear scaling errors and sequences with different voxel sizes). The aim was to examine the impact of this variability in the measurement of infarct size.The following licence files are associated with this item:
