This data set is a set of particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) images looking at water flowing around both a delta shaped model wing, and a swift shaped model wing. Information about the wing shapes can be found in a separate information upload. The models are both tested at two different Reynolds numbers, Re = 15,800 and Re = 65,500, at x/l = 0.33 where x = location along the leading edge of the wing, as measured from the apex and l = full length of the wing, from apex to tip. The leading-edge vortex structure, including a dual leading-edge vortex, can be seen for both cases. The images are unprocessed, however a calibration file is provided with each set. Processing is most easily achieved with LaVision's DaVis software as the IM7 files are specific to that software. However JPIV software can also read IM7 and is available free of charge at http://www.jpiv.vennemann-online.de/ . 100 images are provided for each case. The following licence files are associated with this item:
