This dataset shows the most significant earthquakes around the world since 1900. In each case the location, date and magnitude are recorded. Other details such as the death toll, number of houses destroyed are given when available. This data was sourced from the USGS website and has then been modified extensively to make it usable in a GIS http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/. GIS vector data. This dataset was first accessioned in the EDINA ShareGeo Open repository on 2010-10-29 and migrated to Edinburgh DataShare on 2017-02-21.The following licence files are associated with this item:
