The data described in this article was obtained from experimental tank testing of a 1:15 scale tidal stream turbine subject to a range of regular wave conditions in the presence of a fixed mean current velocity. Waves are generated both following and opposing the current direction, and wave frequencies and amplitudes are systematically varied.
