This dataset refers to the 2nd SYPS cohort of young people, who completed compulsory schooling (the S4 year stage) in the 1985-86 school year. They were first surveyed (sweep 1) in spring 1987 when most were aged about 16-17: some young people were still at school, while others had entered further education, training or jobs. 82% of the cohort responded to the survey, giving an achieved sample size of 6360. There was a second survey sweep in autumn 1989 at age 18-19.The following licence files are associated with this item:
